James 2:17-18 teaches us that faith without works is dead. Let Your Heart Be Broken hymn reminds us to be the hands of Jesus.
James 2: 17-18:
"17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works."
These verses refer to the previous two verses, where James says that having faith without works is like telling a poor man to be warmed and clothed without actually giving him something to warm or clothe himself.
Hymn: Let Your Heart Be Broken by Bryan Leach
Let your heart be broken for a world in need: Feed the mouths that hunger, soothe the wounds that bleed, Give the cup of water and the loaf of bread Be the hands of Jesus, serving in His stead.
Blest to be a blessing privileged to care, Challenged by the need apparent everywhere. Where mankind is wanting, fill the vacant place. Be the means through which the Lord reveals His grace.
Let your heart be tender and your vision clear; See mankind as God sees, serve Him far and near. Let your heart be broken by a brother's pain; Share your rich resources, give and give again.
